Day 6 - An Interview and Meeting The Mastermind Group

June 4, 2010

Today I was on-leave from work. I had an interview with the Sales Team Leader for Colgate-Palmolive Philippines. It seems that they are interested in hiring me as their Distribution Sales Manager for the entire province of Negros.

Actually, I'm not really looking for another job. I know that the more my salary will increase the more I will cling to the feeling of "security". It's why many employees cling to a job because they feel a sense of security whether they slack or work hard on their work, they still receive their salary at the end of each working period.

But I was initially interested with the company since I thought they were hiring for a Cebu based position. Secondly, I'm looking for a job that will give me more time for my business. Also I'm after the name of the company wherein I can use as a track record when the time I already have a sales and marketing consultancy firm.

The Result. Of course my interview went well. I sold myself and the area manager bought my sales pitch 101% (wink). Let's just say when it comes to selling, I have the experience and the mindset to close any deal. Actually, the best part of it is I don't "sell hard". I just state facts and the real benefits of those facts.

So I'm off to Manila by Monday for another interview. This time it will be with their National HR associate, National HR Director, and their National Sales Director.

Well see what happens in a few days.

Later that night.

It was an exciting night for me since I would be meeting the entire Mastermind group for the very first time.

Initially I had a short discussion with Tito Tony about our "sales call" tomorrow for a buyer of Rabbit Advertising. We talked about the "story" that we will discuss with the buyer.

So after dinner I met the entire group. First was Hanz, who, at my first impression was a very intelligent person. Although we were introduced on my first day with the challenge, I learned more about his personality during the meeting.

Next was Bro. Raoul (dubbed as the Bo Sanchez of Cebu). My first impression was, he was timid and a very deep person. Deep in a sense, that he likes to think things over, before doing it.

We all attended our meeting with our loved ones which was really great. In fact, I believe this is a very ideal thing to do. I truly believe in the saying that "behind every man's success is a woman". For me, I know I cannot do it alone, "business is a team sport", or better yet to say "life is a team sport". You need all the support you can get, whether emotionally, spiritually or financially.

During our meeting we threw a lot of ideas at the table. We talked about our plans in internet marketing, laundry business (Raoul already has one), marketing business and many more.

The flow of ideas was great and Tito Tony help us tackle each and every one of it.

As we said our goodbyes, I could not stop thanking God for bringing me in the Mastermind group. Even when I arrived home, I still thought of many business ideas and how to develop my current businesses.

Tomorrow will be another exciting day of business and growing in life as well.

Well again, I will be seeing you at the finish line. To a Million in 90 days.

Day 5 - A Carwash Business

June 3, 2010.

Early morning today, I did my usual prayer time, visualizing my dreams coming true, and pump myself up with my usual "power words".

After my morning routines, I made my daily plan for the day. In other words my to-do-list. As I was writing down my to-do-list, I realized an important thing that I needed to do ASAP. Getting a carwash.

It was just yesterday, when my boss complained about my muddy-unwashed car. He was annoyed by the fact that I did not get my car cleaned while picking him up at the port.

So that day, I really needed to get my car washed. But I had a problem. Carwash companies here in Bacolod City usually opened late, and I needed an internet connection to finish my report that I will present within the day. Lastly, I hated carwash companies in Bacolod City because most of them had poor service and took there customers for granted.

Immediately, a light bulb pop above my head.

Why don't I start a carwash business in Bacolod?

My idea was completely simple. If I was having complains on carwash companies in Bacolod, then there is a possibility that there are also many people who feel the same way as I do.

When Tito Tony texted me on new business ideas, I immediately replied that I'm thinking of starting a carwash business. His suggestion was to explore and think of innovative ways to excel among existing carwash businesses in Bacolod City.

So I made a draft concept of my to-be carwash business.

First. I will Look for a very good location (preferably along the main road of Bacolod City).

Just like real estate, I believe a carwash business location should already be a marketing tool. Being in a heavily traffic area gives you an edge because a lot of people can see your company logo and the kind of business you are engage in.

In your entrance, you can also show the services you offer and the advantages of getting there car washed in your company. This is a great way to do marketing for free.

Second. Offer a reason for customers to continuously use my carwash services.
Here are a few of the reasons:
- Give free coffee or tea
- Have a small room that is air conditioned (comfort is always a reason to comeback)
- Give a free Wifi (wireless internet connection) for customers.

Third. Be dedicated to customer service.

Although this should be included in the "give the customer a reason to continuously use", but I highlight this strategy because I want to embody a customer oriented carwash business. I will train my "wash boys" to always be prompt on their services and wash with a smile.

Actually this would entail an investment on my part,  but I will try to use OPM (other peoples money) on this business and look for investors. If I cannot find any investor, then I will not pursue this business.

Maybe this planned business will push through, maybe not. But I know if ever this will push through this will contribute to my Million in 90 days. It's a sort of second income that gives a share of my total-income-pie.

Well, I will find out in a week or two if ever this will push through.

But I believe I'm getting close to a Million. So see you at the finish line, to a Million in 90 days.

Day 4 - A Busy Day With A Realization

June 2, 2010.

Today is really a busy day for me. My boss and other people from work are coming to Bacolod City for our monthly operations review. Ever since I've become a sales manager, I've also got the tired of our usual meetings. Often when representatives from other departments like logistics, marketing, finance and sales meet it leads to a long-tiring-argument. Although my boss tries to control everyone, most only consider their own butts and forget about teamwork.

Hey I really don't dislike meetings in our company, in fact I've learn a lot from it. Besides in our meetings, the food is always great and overflowing coffee is always there. But the fact that there is not much "real teamwork", it frustrates me and takes away pride in what I do. When I was still in college, I always wanted to work in San Miguel but apparently it is no more than "annoying reality" now.

But there is one thing that I am proud and very thankful of - I've learn the art and science in selling. If not for my training and actual experiences in negotiations I would be where I am right now. Also with my job, I understood why many business gurus say that "sales and marketing is a lifeblood of a business". No matter how great your product is, if you suck at sales and marketing your business will be short-lived.

So the idea is this - I will continuously learn what I can in my job and slowly build my first million in 90days. Can believe that? Talk about stretching a person's capabilities.

Well again, see at the finish line. To a Million in 90 days.

Day 3 - A New Book, A New Mind

June 1, 2010.

After reading a part of the book - "Cash In A Flash", I am now officially a big fan of the book. Although I was already a fan of the first book I've read from Robert Allen - "One Minute Millionaire", reading "Cash In A Flash" is like embarking a journey to wealth.

At the start of book, I have already realize a very important insight in achieving one million in 90 days. As I understood, to achieve such a goal you do not only need to acquire a set of "money earning skills", you have to literally change yourself.

This change is what I think that makes a difference in earning your first million. It involves understanding yourself first and slowly becoming aware of your inner personality.

The book says that to be a millionaire in 90 days, It takes a dream (wow now), befriending your inner winner, and a dream team.

Now to start learning and embrace another that will make my first million in 90 days mindset.

See you at the finish line, to a Million in 90 days.

Day 2 - A New Day To Learn To Be A Millionaire

Since I am still employed, I needed to travel back to my assigned area in Bacolod to report for my work. Although since I am in the field in sales and marketing, my time is flexible compared to other jobs out there.
Meeting owner of Rabbit Advertising

So before traveling, I went with Tito Tony to meet with the owner of Rabbit Advertising. Like I mentioned before, we needed to do a "do diligence" on his business so we will have an idea how we can resell it.

Mr. Robert of Rabbit Advertising was a Belgian and was almost 50-years old (I think). His business was concept. He sold ad spaces which were used in class A restaurants as place-mats.

Generally his business concept was very good, and based on Mr. Robert it was earning a revenue of 400,000 a month. He had also other products like Maps and promotional cards that were also offered to hotels and restaurants to entice more customers to spend more on their service.

He is selling his business for 4 Million. The 2 Million was to paid spot cash and the half to be paid in a years time. If a buyer were to buy his business his ROI would be made in just 9 months time if ever the 400,000 sales revenue per month was true.

In summary selling the business would be easy, we could even mark up at least 15% on selling price and it would still look very attractive to a buyer since potential ROI is very short based on usual investment which usually longer ROI's.

The question now comes in mind, if his business was earning that much, why is he selling it?

Although, I tried to slowly get information it was never enough to justify his books since we were only getting information from Mr. Robert himself (the seller). What we ultimately needed to do was to have a look at his financial statements and his books.

To do this we needed to find a potential buyer first and finally be able to approach him and have a look at his books. Although his business concept is very good and is really possible to earn that much, I still think there is a catch on why he is selling his business.

Now off to go back in Bacolod City.

After our meeting, I had to part ways with Tito Tony. Now off I go to travel back to Bacolod City and continue my life as an employee.
While I was riding the bus (Vhire) I already starting to read the book, "Cash In A Flash". The first lesson in the book was great.

It was about having a WOW Now, Inner Winner, and a Dream Team. I wasn't able to finish reading the book topic yet, so I am still to find out tomorrow.

Before I slept I read again my dreams and visualize my future in 90 days - a Millionaire.
I look forward to more business ideas for tomorrow.

See you at the finish line, to a Million in 90 days.

Day 1 - The Start of The Challenge

May 30, 2010

It is the day that I have been officially declared by Tito Tony, as a member of the mastermind group.

My initial reaction was really of mixed emotions. I was excited, challenged, happy, smiling, glowing, and anxious at the same time.

Today, Tito Tony and I met in Ayala to discuss further on the challenge. As soon as we met, Tito Tony then  proceeded to ask me if I had read the book "Cash In A Flash" by Robert G. Allen. He told me that "it will be the first book that will guide you to  plan and implement your steps to A Million in 90 Days. Let's meet again tomorrow, so I can give the "Cash In A Flash" book, and other essential books that will help in your journey."

Also we planned to meet the owner of Rabbit Advertising the next day. It wasn't really clear to me yet why we were meeting the owner but Tito Tony mentioned - "we will do a short diligence to check his business". It so happen that the owner was selling this good business, and we had to find out why.

After our short meeting, I immediately went out to meet with my wife and a few of our friends, we had coffee and spend time with Glenn who is about to go to Singapore this coming July.

While we were drinking coffee, I asked them a few ideas on what businesses do they think would generate an easy money, and that could help a person become rich in just a few months.

Some of them answered, to be a star (actor or singer). Start a food business. Open an ESL school for Koreans. Sell car oil and tires. Open an events coordination business.

I listed all of their ideas. I knew no matter how petty or silly an idea is, it could help put in a good amount to complete my one million in 90 days.

As I arrived home, I made my own list as well. I have learned through experience and books that I've read that the fastest way to earn money quick is through :

1. Real Estate
2. Internet Marketing
3. Network Marketing'
4. Leverage Type of Business Model

I made some little notes on where to start on these business models, and find out where I've left off from them since I've tried each model before. Although I was never really that close to earning a million but I made some significant amounts in some of these business models.

As I went to sleep, my wife and I prayed a new prayer together. "Lord bless me, so that I can bless others more. Specifically, bless me with one million in 90 days".

Tomorrow will be another exciting day. I am looking forward to my first meeting with the owner of Rabbit Advertising. You'll be hearing my updates tomorrow.

See you at the finish line, to a Million in 90 days.

My Journey To One Million Dollars In 90 Days

It was May 29, 2010 when I first met Tito Tony and his wife Tita Gloria. They were the parents of a friend who willingly helped me on how to improve my internet marketing business.

We had dinner at Acha Pizzaria and as expected, the meal was sumptuous. Our conversation started by getting to know each other and eventually it got deeper which lead us to talking about business strategies, marketing, and other ways to earn money.

As our conversation progressed to more details about earning money, Tito Tony mentioned something that rocked my world, this is what he said - "I'm mentoring a few people, the challenge is One-Million in 90 days". He added, "I call this group the "mastermind", and it is a two-way approach wherein if a member has an idea (no matter how wild or small) we discussed it together and evaluate it if we should push through such a project."

Suddenly, in a matter of seconds my heart was pounding very fast. As my heart pounded, it repeatedly chanted these words - One-Million in 90 days, One-Million in 90 days, One-Million in 90 days, One-Million in 90 days..... It repeated that phrase almost a hundred times that I could no longer focus on our conversation.

The thought of earning a million in 90-days was mind boggling to me. I interrupted my thinking, and tried profusely to focus again in our conversation.

In a while my wife arrived and our conversation was diverted to other "get-to-know" things. As we continued, we talked more about business, and many other stuff that I could barely remember. My mind was focused on one thing, ONE MILLION IN 90 DAYS.

Since it was getting late, we had to end our "getting-to-know" and respectively went home. When I arrived home, I sent a text to Tito Tony and thank him for his time and for generously sharing his wisdom. I also told him that, it would be great if I could join their mastermind group.

The next day, Tito Tony texted back and asked if I could meet him in Ayala Mall at 5:00 in the afternoon so we could talk more of the mastermind group.

The start of a big-hairy-audacious challenge (goal).

Tito Tony officially announced that he is already including me in his challenge. He is taking me on his wing, and will help me achieve One (1) Million in 90 Days.

A new journey to a new financial abyss!

Hey I don't mean to deny it, I have actually made a goal to be a millionaire.

I invest in stocks and mutual funds, I've tried real estate (never actually acquired a property), I have a network-marketing business (running with a small team), I'm completely insured (term-life), I have health care (5years to pay, 15 years maturity), I have a small sales and distribution business (in which I have partners), I am a "highly paid" sales manager, and I already started an online business.

My plans have already been made, and I read it everyday. I look at my dream board and feel inside my heart the "emotional why's" to do everything that I do. But the problem with this is, my goal is to be a millionaire in Dec 17, 2014.

Just thinking of achieving a million in 90 days is exciting, stressful, wonderful, taboo, amazing, and wild enough. How in the world am I going to achieve that?! Or worse, is that even possible?!

Waaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! What did I get myself into this time?

But a deeper voice in me whispered, "think of all the people you could bless - your family, your wife, your future kids, your friends, and your biggest dream to help poor kids finish college". What's more, you can finally have more time for yourself, to start more businesses, serving back in ministry, playing music, leading worship... and many more things that you really want to do.

The verse pinched my heart again "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I am God's Champion.

So now let's make it happen!

Now I am officially declaring my participation in the challenge. I said to myself, "even if I don't earn a Million in Money, I'll surely earn a Million in Experience". In fact, I have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Join me, and together let's go on a wild journey to financial freedom and learn with me how to earn a million in 90 days.

See you at the finish line, to a Million in 90 days.
