Day 58 - A Day of Hope and Cebu's First National Costplay

I had a glimpse of hope today.

Apparently, some of my co-employees were already offered the retirement package. The problem is that the ones who were offered were the ones who slacked at their work.

So as one of the best performing sales managers, I was not included in the list.

I really wanted to be on the list. The money that I will receive will be used as my start up capital or money for the rainy days.

Once I quit or stop working, my income will drastically stop. Although I know I will be able to make ends meet, I also do not want to risk my entire family's welfare.

Moving forward, I am re-applying for the early retirement package. This coming Monday, I will talk (again) to my immediate superior and ask for his endorsement (again).

This will be the third time that I will speak with him regarding my application of the retirement package and I am praying that by this time, my immediate superior will give me his endorsement and approval

Preparing for my very first Cosplay.

I had a late meeting with Ate Gingging today; We were finalizing the preparations for tomorrow's Cosplay event.

I have heard about the many Cosplay events but I was never really able to witness one in person. So I am excited that I am part of the team.

My role? Handling the creative side of the event. Actually, just a small part of the creatives.

Even though I know I won't get paid for this and it would seem more of a cost since I am investing my time and money (fares and food), but doing something this fun is always great. I am an Anime Fan, so activities like this really makes me feel excited.

Secondly, this will be our first good relationship investment towards Imagewise (Ate Gingging), The Business Incubators (Our Team),and SM Cyberzone. Our hope is that in our future activities, SM will come to us for more events and promotional services.

Actually, the whole point is to market our partner - Imagewise. So as a business, we The Business Incubators, will learn new ways on how to market Imagewise to a bigger/wider range of market.

We now have a better view of what to do with our first business partner Imagewise.

So I was able to use my business lesson - Relationships come first before money.

Yes, we will not earn from this project but we gained the trust of Imagewise (as a partner) and SM Cyberzone (as a marketing client). So we look forward to more activities with both companies.

Day 57 - The Worse Marketing Seminar I've Attended

I was hoping that today I would learn a lot from our marketing cascade but it ended out to be too corporate for my taste.

On a quarterly basis, our company conducts Balance Of the Year (BOY) programs on how to attain our sales targets for the rest of the year. So far, marketing insights are based on shotgun methods that only cater to certain segments of the market but not each market.

As usual, their programs were based on the usual tri-media advertisements and only targets one segment of the market.

Specifically for Purefoods, marketing is launching a lot of products yet targeting the same kind of market which is the kids.

I really wanted to share my ideas but I felt that doing so would only get my ass burned. Or if not, it would confuse even our management. So that day, I understood something very important. In the corporate world, everyone kisses ass.

Hey, I may be a victim of this "epidemic" as well.

So that day, I decided to sit straight and feel proud of myself. I thank God that I am a walking, talking, thinking, ENTREPRENEUR.

I may not be financially rich now, but I believe that one day with a mindset of an entrepreneur, it will change my net worth. Besides becoming wealthy is 90% preparation and 10% action. As the great Stephen Pierce puts it, business is a mind game.

That's what I need to do now. To fully equip my mind with the right mindset and foundation of a successful entrepreneur.

One day, I will get there. I know I will, and I will see you there.

Day 57 - The Worse Marketing Seminar I've Attended

Day 55 - A Call To Greatness, Giving Back All We Are.

Today I just had a great highlight of my day. It is not doing my job (yup I still enjoy selling). Not making post for my online businesses. Not the business ideas that pop-up every now and then. It's the extension time that God has given me on this earth.

Now I know what a real million is, in fact wealth is insignificant after watching this talk of Bro. Bo. It reminded me of the verse, "seek first the kingdom of God and everything will follow".

While I pride myself for being a good Christian, I think for the past days (or even months), I have been focusing on the wrong things in life. Obviously, since I have joined this "million in 90 days" challenge, I have focused too much on money and I forgot the more important things in life.

Planting the seeds in heaven.

Hey let me make things clear. I am a good Christian, I pray everyday (mornings and evenings with the Bible). I attend mass very actively. I love as much as I can (specially my family and my beautiful wife). I am generous with my tithing. I am happy and I try to forgive as fast as I could. Yet, I have forgotten one of the most important aspects of being a Christian - SERVICE.

I am reminded that all our lives are hanging on a thread. That anytime God can take it away, if He chooses to. That we are all living on borrowed time.

Now I will choose nothing else but serve God. Imperfect as we humans are, we all fail but by committing all that I am to be used for God's purpose, it will make a difference.

Here's my prayer to God.

"Father, all that I am belongs to You. Use all of me for Your purpose. I do not know where to go directly but let your grace be sufficient to make my path clear".

So I will be seeing you, to a earning a Million for God's Kingdom.

Day 55 - A Call To Greatness, Giving Back All We Are.

Day 54 - What Will I Do Now? Please Help....

I'm back in my prison cell again - working in my job. (With a long sigh.....)

When I have already decided that I am moving to the entreprenuiral path, working at my job has become harder and harder as the days go by.

To add insult to injury, management just decided to add more reports that have to be submitted on a weekly basis. I "sarcastically" answered my boss whether we should be called salespeople or corporate secretaries. He directly diverted the topic.

That day, I told myself a simple affirmation, "all things will  work for the good". Honestly, I didn't understand why that affirmation came into my mind. Maybe God is teaching me patience again. Or maybe someday, learning all this reports will be useful for my future business.

Again, I know I should be seeing the bigger picture. Like what I used to say, "there's always an ROI". Like what Brother Bo said, all of our experiences will be used for God's purpose once we serve Him.

So I'm keeping my patience, and will do my best to keep an open mind. Learn all I can from the corporate world and hopefully, be able to apply what I've learned.

A confusing news :

The highlight of my day was in the evening. I attented my distributor's birthday party. Sir Larry is one of my first real-life business mentor, and I was very happy to celebrate with him his 56th birthday.

We enjoyed talking about business and health as well, but there was a really confusing news that became our topic.

Sir Gerry (brother of Sir Larry, who is the president of SMC properties) told me that the entire food group is being sold, and there is a possibility of us being paid for an early retirement.

I could not help but ask him again, since I was in disbelief. But his answer was the same.

Oh no, what will I do?

All throughout that night I was really confused. If I will submit my resignation now, I could lose the opportunity to get paid for a substantial amount of money. But if I will wait for another month, I will keep my business partners waiting in Cebu.

Honestly, I do not know what to do. I'm waiting on God, on where should I base my decision.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Only God knows, so I'll ask Him. Please pray for me, that I will make a brave decision.

Day 54 - What Will I Do Now? Please Help....

Day 53 - Celebrating A Sunday, Planning For Kerygma Conference 2010

It's a great day to celebrate God's love today. After a week of stress from the hospital and the successful operation of my wife, it was now time to praise and glorify our Lord.

We attended the Cebu Kerygma Feast, together with the entire team of Business Incubators.

The feeling of worshiping our Lord was a great feeling of revival. Again and again, He was saying, "come to Me all who labor/burden and I will give you rest". After a tiring week, God assured me again that no matter how heavy my feelings are, He will carry me in His arms and heal me.

The worship was followed by an inspiring talk by brother Oscar - "Get Rid of Your Past Guilt's". It was a continuation on the series of talks which was about changing our belief system.

That day, many people were blessed with God's promise of abundance and we all prayed for our dreams and said "My Biggest Dreams Will Come True This Year".

Also the highlight of the activity is that, after the worship and hearing God's word through brother Oscar, we were divided into small groups to do some sharing. Again, I felt that we were all healed and inspired during our sharing. God is truly amazing for bringing us to this community.

After that, we had lunch with Tito Tony, Janmck, and Tita Glo. We then headed home for a much awaited rest.

At 9PM that day, we again met with the entire marketing team for Kerygma Conference this coming December 4, 2010.

We had a new addition to the group, who is also a member of the Business Incubators. Again as a marketing consultant, we discussed the many important aspects of the upcoming Kerygma Conference.

In addition, we were given more chances to serve at the Feast since now we are also the Marketing and Creative consultants for the Feast as well. Wow! God truly wants to use us all the way.=)

Day 53 - Celebrating A Sunday, Planning For Kerygma Conference 2010

Day 52 - BE, DO, HAVE - An Enlighten Millionaires Way

Today my schedule was a bit relaxed. Almost the entire morning we spent with our partners from lovingabundance.com, Ate Daisy and Ate Michelle. Together with lovingabundance.com and our team - Business Incubators, we will host a great event that will benefit anyone, specially those who are conscious about the synthetic medicines that their doctors are giving them.

The event is entitled "Natural Remedies Seminar". From it's title alone, I think you already have an idea on what the entire activity is all about. In a nutshell, the best benefits you can get from this seminar is that you will learn how to use alternative medicines (natural medicines found on your backward) with just a fraction of the cost of commercial medicines.

Actually, we are not earning much with this activity (in fact I'm not sure if we are earning at all, lol.), we just want to inform more people about using alternative medicines and how it's more beneficial than synthetic medicines (besides being relatively cheap). It's more of giving service first rather than thinking about earning a profit.

In relation to this, I remember an old lesson from the book "One Minute Millionaire", which is one of the best foundations of being an enlightened millionaire - BE, DO, Have.

To reach your first million, we start with the BEING, then Doing, and eventually Having.

In the book, it states that the process of becoming a millionaire for life has to move this way.

An aspiring millionaire must start by acquiring the knowledge, the skills, and specially the attitude of an enlightened millionaire. This is the BEING part, where you first need to acquire the mindset.

Next is applying the skills of having the mindset of the enlightened millionaire. So this becomes the DOING part, wherein you see more ways to make money and actually pursue it.

For me, the last part is just actually the result of the first two steps. Once you've established the mindset and you already have the skills of a millionaire, you'll continuously earn a million no matter what situation you're in. So HAVING a Millionaire's net worth is just that easy once you get through the BE - DO part.

As for me, I am still in stage one and two. Continuously changing the wrong acquired attitudes, and applying the many money making strategies that I have learned.

Soon my first million will come. But I would like to add something to Robert Allen's process - BE, DO, HAVE, and GIVE BACK.

That's my real goal. To be wealthy to give more, and love more. I hope those of you who are also reading my blog, dream of the same future.

Day 52 - BE, DO, HAVE - An Enlighten Millionaires Way

Day 40 - It's About Doing What You Love To Do

My schedule for today was definitely a hectic one that I became so sleepy while we were even meeting with the entire mastermind.

In the morning, I had to make a new post for my internet marketing blog and my sales blog, which took longer than the usual since I had a lot of "distractions". Distractions which are in the form of questions from my brothers or my beloved mother. Although attending to these "distractions" are a bit annoying at times, I have long decided that I will chose my relationships among anything in this world. So I chose to answer specially if it's from my beautiful wife that's involved in the distraction.

By 11:00 am :

I had an appointment with Mr. Edwin Chiong, CEO of Fresh Catch Inc. Fresh Catch Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of frozen fish products for the entire Luzon and Cebu City.

Mr. Chiong is planning to expand to the provinces of Negros and Panay, wherein he would need to tap a distributor for his frozen fish products. Since we had a common friend, Mr. Choing opted to partner with me as his distributor for Negros - Bacolod City. He offered me a good discount (12%), a term on my payments (30-day term), and free delivery from Cebu to Bacolod.

Although Mr. Chiong knew that my distribution business is just in a small scale, he knew that my experiences as marketing consultant with San Miguel will be favorable to grow his business in the future.

After our meeting, I shouted WOW! I told myself that everyday I'm meeting more and more people that adds value to my life.

At 12:30 - 3:30pm

I then had a fast lunch and continued posting on my other blogs which were about Business Ideas, Entrepreneurship and Financial Planning.

At 4:00pm in the afternoon :

I had an appointment with a client for my financial brokerage business. I believe with this business, there is a good room for generating income. The company is International Marketing Group (IMG). It is an information company that focuses on teaching financial education and the selling of health care plans, insurance, mutual funds, and other investment vehicles. For the average person who does not want anything to do with their money, this will be their solution.

The good thing about this business is that it is something that you can grow exponentially through growing the number of financial brokers. It is a networking business but not a "pyramid-scheme" type.

During my appointment, my presentation was very good and I believe my client was 90% convinced. Our conversation took a while but I believe it was good as a close deal. But again I will have to find out tomorrow whether how good of a sales person I truly am.

After my appointment, I had to go help my beautiful wife, Tita Gloria, and Gail pack up the projector that was rented for a wedding. We then proceeded to follow Tito Tony, Jan, and Hanz with their night run.

It was really a busy day. My feet hurts. I felt sleepy after 10pm. But there was a million value on that day.

I HAD FUN ALL THROUGH OUT THAT DAY.

Whether my post will not lead to traffic on my blogs. Whether my partnership with Mr. Chiong will not work out. Whether I won't be able to close my appointment with my client for IMG.

I will do it again and again because it was all fun.=)

Day 40 - It's About Doing What You Love To Do

I had such a great day today.

Last Wednesday, we were able to meet Tita May of Light of Jesus (LOJ), wherein we had a short meeting about us helping with the marketing of the upcoming Kerygma Conference (K-Con) this coming December which will be held in Cebu City.

So today we had our first meeting with the entire marketing team for K-Con. Other attendees of the meeting were fellow members of the mastermind - Hanz, Drew, Jan, Tito Tony, Tita Gloria and my beautiful wife.

As our meeting started, we each started to give information about ourselves and what we believe brought us to that meeting.

We were all very happy that each member of the team had their own expertise to contribute to the entire team but what really struck a question in my heart was "why did God bring me here?".

I was suppose to be at work, acting as the usual marketing consultant and sales head of my territory but God chose to take me to LOJ. And finally I remembered a prayer that I used to pray to God, "Father let me serve You again".

I remember during my days as a Youth For Christ leader, my conviction was so high that I'd travel to the different youth camps around the Visayas just to serve in the music ministry. During those times, I was usually given surprises wherein I was asked to share or even give talks.

So here it is, given to me in another form of service. Serving God through what I've learned in my life as a marketing consultant and sales manager.

With this I am truly grateful to Him, and again He has proven that all my experiences will be used for the greater glory of his kingdom. Whether I learned it through business, marketing, my job, my failures, my skills and talents, my relationships. It's sole purpose will be to spread His love and forgiveness.

In my life, I know I will always be given the opportunity to share His love and for that my life is forever full of meaning and purpose.

Day 39 - Father Let Me Serve You Again

Day 38 - To Work or Not Work?

It's been a while since I've written in my journal and so far there has been tremendous changes in my life.

Today is already my 39th day in my 90-day journey towards 1 million and the direction of my life has already changed 180 degrees. 

First.

I am on the process of leaving my job. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaatttt?! That's the common reaction of my friends and some relatives. As I mentioned before, I work with San Miguel Corp. (SMC) as a sales manager. I received a hefty pay check, plus monthly commissions, good benefits, and a service car.

They say that SMC is a very stable company to work with, and it is really "good" for the longterm. In fact, I've known people who retired from SMC that were able to recieve 3-5 Million by being loyal employees. But the problem is that, they spent most of their lives, 25-30 years of working for the company.

So for me, I don't think that depending 30 plus years of my income into one source is a sound financial decision. But my reasons for leaving is not only based on a financial decision but more of a personal choice.

You see working in a corporate world is like being a Samurai using a double-edged sword. You are paid well but the monetary amount requires a much higher form of asset - TIME. The more you move up the corporate ladder, the more time you need to give to the company. And since we all have the same 24 hours a day, it takes a lot away from your "family-time", "business-time", and "personal-time".

Another big problem here is that you will tend to cling to the feeling that a job is equals to security. Instead of being open to other opportunities outside your job, you adapt the common life process of most baby boomers today. They work till 60 years old, save up for retirement, and then spend all their savings (retirement money) on medicines, hospitalization, and needs for their health.

Obviously, I don't want my life to end that way. Above all, I want to own my time. Owning my time will be very important in building my relationship with my family, so with my current job I don't think that would be possible.

Secondly, I believe that life's success is not measured by your achievements but who had the most fun. Fun for me is simply defined as love. We were created out of love so our sole purpose is to love. A lot of people relate love as something mushy but it is actually being able to do what you are meant to do.

So this is my prayer. That God will grant me the strength and the grace to finally cross the bridge of risk across the other side which is financial freedom. Giving up a safe and secure job is definitely a risk but beyond that is financial freedom.
